    Simple Chicken Alfredo Recipe

    Simple Chicken Alfredo Recipe

    Prep time: 10 minutes
    Cook time: 20 minutes
    Serves: 3–4


    Ingredients

    • 250 g (9 oz) fettuccine or pasta of choice

    • 2 chicken breasts, thinly sliced

    • 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter

    • Salt & black pepper, to taste

    • 3 cloves garlic, minced

    Alfredo Sauce

    • 1 cup heavy cream

    • ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

    • 2 tablespoons butter

    • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)

    • Pinch of nutmeg (optional)

    For Garnish (optional)

    • Fresh parsley

    • Extra Parmesan cheese


    Instructions

    1. Cook the pasta
      Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
      Cook pasta according to package directions until al dente.
      Reserve ½ cup pasta water, then drain.

    2. Cook the chicken
      Season chicken with salt and pepper.
      Heat olive oil or butter in a large pan over medium heat.
      Cook chicken for 5–6 minutes, turning once, until golden and cooked through.
      Remove from pan and set aside.

    3. Make the sauce
      In the same pan, melt butter.
      Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
      Pour in heavy cream and simmer gently for 3–4 minutes.

    4. Add cheese
      Lower heat and stir in Parmesan cheese until smooth and creamy.
      Add Italian seasoning and nutmeg if using.

    5. Combine everything
      Add cooked pasta and chicken back to the pan.
      Toss well, adding reserved pasta water a little at a time if needed.

    6. Serve
      Taste and adjust seasoning.
      Garnish with parsley and extra Parmesan.


    Tips & Variations

    • Extra creamy: Add a splash of cream cheese

    • Lighter version: Use half-and-half instead of heavy cream

    • Add veggies: Broccoli, mushrooms, or spinach work great

    • Spicy twist: Add chili flakes
