    Ingredients

    For the Dough:

    • 4 cups all-purpose flour
    • 2 oz fresh yeast
    • 2/3 cup butter, melted
    • 1/2 cup sugar
    • 1 packet vanilla sugar
    • 2 eggs
    • 1 egg yolk
    • 1/2 cup warm milk
    • Pinch of salt

    For the Crumble:

    • 2/3 cup sugar
    • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
    • 2/3 cup butter or margarine

    For the Cheese Filling:

    • 1 lb farmer’s cheese
    • 2 egg yolks
    • 1 cup powdered sugar
    • 1 packet vanilla pudding mix
    • 1/4 cup milk
    • Few drops of vanilla extract

    Instructions

    Prepare the Dough:

    1. Activate Yeast: Dissolve the fresh yeast with a bit of warm milk and 1 tablespoon of sugar. Let it sit until bubbly, about 5-10 minutes.
    2. Mix Dough: In a large bowl, combine the flour, yeast mixture, salt, sugar, eggs, egg yolk, and remaining warm milk. Mix until a dough forms, then add the melted butter and knead until smooth.
    3. Let Rise: Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.

    Prepare the Filling:

    1. Mix Cheese: In a bowl, combine the farmer’s cheese, egg yolks, powdered sugar, pudding mix, milk, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.

    Assemble the Babka:

    1. Prepare Pan: Grease a 10×15-inch baking pan and sprinkle with breadcrumbs.
    2. Spread Dough: Roll out the risen dough and place it in the prepared pan.
    3. Add Filling: Spread the cheese filling evenly over the dough.

    Prepare the Crumble:

    1. Make Crumble: In a bowl, combine the sugar, flour, and butter. Mix until crumbly.
    2. Top Babka: Sprinkle the crumble over the cheese filling.

    Bake:

    1. Bake Babka: Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Bake the babka for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
