    Simple Turkey Chili

    Prep Time: 10 minutes
    Cook Time: 30 minutes
    Serves: 4–6


    Ingredients

    • 1 lb (450 g) ground turkey

    • 1 tablespoon olive oil

    • 1 medium onion, chopped

    • 2 cloves garlic, minced

    • 1 bell pepper, chopped (any color)

    • 1 can (14.5 oz / 400 g) diced tomatoes

    • 1 can (15 oz / 425 g) kidney beans or black beans, drained and rinsed

    • 1 cup tomato sauce

    • 1 cup chicken broth or water

    • 1½ teaspoons chili powder

    • 1 teaspoon ground cumin

    • ½ teaspoon paprika

    • ½ teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)

    • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

    • Optional: pinch of cayenne or red chili flakes for heat


    Instructions

    1. Cook the turkey
      Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
      Add ground turkey and cook, breaking it up, until no longer pink (5–6 minutes).

    2. Add aromatics
      Stir in onion, garlic, and bell pepper.
      Cook for 3–4 minutes until softened and fragrant.

    3. Build the chili
      Add diced tomatoes, beans, tomato sauce, and broth.
      Sprinkle in chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir well.

    4. Simmer
      Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce heat to low.
      Simmer uncovered for 20–25 minutes, stirring occasionally.

    5. Taste & serve
      Adjust seasoning if needed. Serve hot.

    • Fresh cilantro

    • Avocado slices


    Tips & Variations

    • Thicker chili: Simmer a few extra minutes uncovered

    • Healthier: Use extra-lean ground turkey

    • Extra veggies: Add zucchini, corn, or mushrooms

    • Slow cooker: Brown turkey first, then cook on LOW for 4–6 hours
