Simple Turkey Chili

Ingredients

1 lb (450 g) ground turkey

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 medium onion, chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 bell pepper, chopped (any color)

1 can (14.5 oz / 400 g) diced tomatoes

1 can (15 oz / 425 g) kidney beans or black beans, drained and rinsed

1 cup tomato sauce

1 cup chicken broth or water
-
1½ teaspoons chili powder
-
1 teaspoon ground cumin
-
½ teaspoon paprika
-
½ teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)

¼ teaspoon black pepper

Optional: pinch of cayenne or red chili flakes for heat
Instructions

Cook the turkey
Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
Add ground turkey and cook, breaking it up, until no longer pink (5–6 minutes). -
Add aromatics
Stir in onion, garlic, and bell pepper.
Cook for 3–4 minutes until softened and fragrant. -
Build the chili
Add diced tomatoes, beans, tomato sauce, and broth.
Sprinkle in chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir well. -
Simmer
Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce heat to low.
Simmer uncovered for 20–25 minutes, stirring occasionally. -
Taste & serve
Adjust seasoning if needed. Serve hot.
