Air Fryer “Boiled” Eggs
Ingredients & Tools
Ingredients
- Eggs – any size (large is most common)
- Ice cubes – for cooling
- Cold water – for the ice bath
- Salt, pepper, or seasonings – optional
Equipment
- Air fryer – preheated
- Heat-safe bowl – for the ice bath
- Tongs or a slotted spoon – for safe handling
Tip: Eggs that are 5–7 days old tend to peel more easily than very fresh ones.
Directions
1. Preheat the Air Fryer
Set the air fryer to 270°F (130°C). If your model tends to run a bit cool, use 275°F (135°C). Preheat for about 2–3 minutes.
2. Place the Eggs
Arrange the eggs in a single layer, leaving space between them so hot air can circulate evenly.
3. Choose Your Cook Time
- Soft-boiled (runny center): 9–10 minutes
- Medium-boiled (jammy center): 11–12 minutes
- Hard-boiled (fully cooked): 13–15 minutes
No flipping or monitoring needed—just set the time and let the air fryer work.
4. Transfer to Ice Bath
As soon as cooking is done, move the eggs into a bowl filled with ice water. Let them cool for at least 5 minutes to stop the cooking process, protect the yolk color, and make peeling easier.
5. Peel and Enjoy
Lightly tap each egg, roll it to crack the shell, and peel under cool running water. Season simply with salt and pepper or experiment with your favorite spices and dips.
